Our Philosophy

The educators here view the school as a second home for students, a place of shared relationships among the children, the teachers, and the parents. The school gives but above the children, a feeling of belonging in a world that is alive, welcoming and authentic. The classroom is meant to look natural and comfortable. The classrooms are covered by the work of the children to make connections at all time.  One of our highlights is long term exploration of themes and projects. Educators may derive from both children’s and teacher’s ideas and interests and theories in things worth knowing about. Teachers often work on projects with a small group of children while the rest of the classroom continues to involve itself in other self-selected activities and explorations. This makes the whole approach inquiry driven and a specialty of our school.
